Carefree is recruiting a care-experienced apprentice youth worker.

30 hours per week.

The role will involve supporting young people 11-25 who are in or leaving care.  As an apprentice you will work in a supportive team where workers, including former care-experienced apprentices, will mentor and support you to learn how to work with young people in a way that makes them more confident, helps them learn new skills and helps them make friends with others.  We run groups which include sports and arts and all our work is led by our young volunteer peer mentors.

You will also be able to be involved in improving the care system for others, by attending local and national events and representing the views of young people.  You will be involved in helping to interview workers who work with children and young people in care, assist at training for social workers and foster carers and support Voice for us as the Children in Care and Care Leaver’s Council.

You will attend a training course at the right level for you, in an area like Youth Work or Children and Young People’s workforce.  The role will be paid at £150 – 170 per week depending on qualifications and experience.
