Work Experience Placements with Cornwall Council

Cornwall Council offers a wide range of work experience placements for people aged 14 and over, to experience the work environment and we welcome interest from Children in Care and Care Leavers, as part of our initiative to help Children in Care explore potential future employment opportunities.

Placements benefit your personal and professional development and you'll gain an insight into how we deliver our services by work shadowing and getting some 'hands on' practical experience. This could help you in future job applications.

The skills you will gain from work experience are:

  • Team work
  • Effective communication
  • Organisation
  • Motivation
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Confidence

West Cornwall Youth Trust funding Carefree

"We established the trust in 2010 to provide support to deserving young people in Cornwall...The primary way in which we achieve this is by offering financial assistance or grants to charitable organisations who can, in turn, help young people in West Cornwall – generally those who live west of an imaginary line between St Austell and Newquay, including the Isles of Scilly".
